Trifox Announces GENESIS RMS driver

CAMPBELL, California, July 21, 1999 -- Trifox Inc., announced today that its intention to add new data sources to the world's most open accessware continues at full pace.

Trifox' GENESIS product provides SQL access to legacy and flat file datbases such as ISAM, Micro Focus, SDMS, and others. With the addition of the OpenVMS RMS native driver, RMS users can now use SQL to access their existing RMS databases. This new access allows the most popular database access and reporting tools to run against RMS.

RMS's ease of use and wide distribution as part of the OpenVMS operating system has led to a large installed base of databases. Instead of feeling stranded, RMS users can continue to develop RMS solutions secure in the knowledge that they can use up-to-date access tools. In fact, RMS users can now use the entire VORTEX TRIM product suites, including the VORTEX C & COBOL precompilers, VORTEX++ - a C++ class library, VORTEXjdbc, VORTEX Java Edition, VORTEXperl, and more.

"The GENESIS RMS driver provides a simple, inexpensive, and high-performance solution to users who want the speed and simplicity of RMS and also want the convenience and ease of SQL access," reports Paul Dembry, Trifox Senior Software Engineer "In addition, this solution is simple to install and requires very little maintenance."
