Introduction

The GENESIS AcuCorp VISION ISAM driver uses direct VISION calls to provide very high performance with SQL access. The VISION ISAM driver supports array fields as well as the WHEN XFD qualifier to maintain legacy ISAM files. The GENESIS AcuCorp VISION ISAM driver is only available from Micro Focus.

Included with the driver is a GENESIS dictionary maintenance utility. GENESIS relies upon several dictionary tables to keep track of the VISION ISAM file layouts, including keys. The utility initializes the GENESIS dictionary and can also read the AcuCorp XFD definitions to define existing files. This is typically done once assuming that the XFD files have been kept in sync with the actual ISAM files. New definitions can be added and existing ones modified dynamically.
