Introduction

The GENESIS SDMS ISAM driver uses direct SDMS calls to provide very high performance with SQL access. The SDMS ISAM driver supports structure tagging within ISAM files to maintain legacy ISAM files. The GENESIS SDMS ISAM driver is only available from Synergex.

Included with the driver is a GENESIS dictionary maintenance utility. GENESIS relies upon several dictionary tables to keep track of the SDMS ISAM file layouts, including keys. The utility initializes the GENESIS dictionary and can also read the SYNERGY repository to define existing files. This is typically done once assuming that the SYNERGY repository has been kept in sync with the actual ISAM files.
